This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in news text material due to conventional learning methods that tend to be theoretical and lack direct experience. These conditions caused students to experience difficulties in identifying 5W+1H factual elements and understanding the structure of news texts contextually. Therefore, this study aims to improve student learning outcomes in news text material in Class XI KA 1 of SMKN 5 Bandung through the implementation of an Experiential Learning model based on press conference simulations. The learning process was designed using four stages of Kolb's cycle (concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation) by integrating a press conference simulation as a platform for direct fact gathering. The research subjects comprised 34 students. Data were collected using news text learning outcome tests administered before (pretest) and after (posttest) the intervention. The data processing results demonstrated a significant increase in the class average score from 51.56 on the pretest to 87.44 on the posttest. Classical learning mastery (minimum mastery criterion = 75) increased from 0.00% (0 students) to 100.00% (34 students). Normalized Gain ($N\text{-Gain}$) analysis yielded a mean score of 0.7415, categorized as High (55.88% of students in the high category and 44.12% in the medium category). The paired sample t-test results confirmed a statistically significant difference in learning outcomes ($t = 16.6301; p < 0.001$). Thus, the application of the Experiential Learning model based on press conference simulations is proven effective in improving student learning outcomes in news text material for Class XI KA 1 students at SMKN 5 Bandung.
