Penerapan Model Discovery Learning Pada Pembelajaran IPAS Siswa Kelas V SD Negeri 4 Lubuk Linggau

This study aimed to determine the effect of implementing the Discovery Learning model on the science and social studies (IPAS) learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Lubuklinggau. This study employed a quantitative method with a Pre-Experimental Design in the form of a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population and sample of this study consisted of 23 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Lubuklinggau. The sampling technique used was total sampling (sampling jenuh). Data were collected through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation, while the test instrument consisted of 15 multiple-choice questions administered as a Pretest and a Posttest. The data analysis techniques included the calculation of the mean, standard deviation, normality test, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the mean Pretest score was 61.74 with a standard deviation of 14.42, while the mean Posttest score increased to 83.82 with a standard deviation of 11.77. The students' learning mastery increased from 13.04% in the Pretest to 78.26% in the Posttest. The mean learning outcome increased by 21.08 points. The results of the normality test using the chi-square test showed that the Pretest and Posttest data were normally distributed because the calculated χ² value for the Pretest was 3.27 and the calculated χ² value for the Posttest was 8.21, both of which were lower than the χ² table value of 11.07 at a significance level of α = 0.05. The hypothesis testing results showed that the calculated T value was 3.19, which was higher than the T table value of 2.07; therefore, H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Thus, the implementation of the Discovery Learning model had a significant effect on the IPAS learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Lubuklinggau.
