Learning interest is an important factor in supporting students' active participation and achievement in the learning process, particularly in Cultural Arts subjects that emphasize creativity, expression, and active involvement. However, differences in students' characteristics, abilities, and learning preferences require teachers to implement appropriate and engaging learning strategies. This study was motivated by the important role of teachers in enhancing students' learning interest in Cultural Arts education through the implementation of strategies that align with students' characteristics and the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. The purpose of this study was to describe the teacher's strategies in fostering the learning interest of fifth-grade students in Cultural Arts subjects based on the Merdeka Curriculum at SD Negeri 2 Sembawa. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research participants consisted of the fifth-grade teacher as the primary informant, while the fifth-grade students served as supporting data sources. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the teacher implemented various strategies to foster students' learning interest, including providing hands-on practical activities, utilizing engaging learning media, and giving appreciation for students' learning achievements. The implementation of these strategies increased students' activeness, enthusiasm, self-confidence, and participation in Cultural Arts learning. In conclusion, creative and innovative teaching strategies that are tailored to students' needs can effectively enhance students' learning interest and support the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at the elementary school level.
