Pengaruh Penggunaan Media Audiovisual Berbantuan Aplikasi Canva terhadap Motivasi Belajar IPAS Kelas V Sekolah Dasar

Learning motivation plays a key role in how well students do im science and social studies (IPAS) classes at the elementary level. However, the results of a preliminary observation at SDN 1 Cikembar showed that the learning motivation of fifth-grade students was still low due to instruction being dominated by lecture methods and the use of less interactive media. This study aimed to analyze the effect of using audiovisual media assisted by the Canva application on the learning motivation of fifth-grade IPAS students. The study used a quantitative method and followed a quasi experimental approach with a noneequevalent control group design. The study included 50 students, with 25 in the experimental group and 25 in the control group. Data were collected through observation, a learning motivation questionnaire using a four-point Likert scale and documentation. The research instrument consisted of 25 statement items that met the validity and reliability requirements, with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.900. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 29 through the Shapiro Wilk normality test, Levene’s Test for homogeneity, and the Independent Samples t-Test. The results of the studi show that the average learning motivation score for the experimental class increased from 62.68 to 78.56 (an increase of 15.88 points), while that of the control class increased from 69.00 to 72.60 (an increase of 3.60 points). The hypothesis test yielded a Sig. (2-tailed) value of < 0.001, indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Therefore, the use of audiovisual media assisted by the use of the Canva app has been shown to have a significant impact on the learning motivation of fifth-grade IPAS stuents. The results of the study also show that Canva to create audiovisual materials can improve the quality of instruction, thereby making learning more engaging and encourage active student participation during the learning process.
