Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Bantengan 01 in Pancasila Education (PPKn) through the implementation of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) approach, discussion method, and Pop-Up Book media. The study was motivated by the low learning outcomes caused by teacher-centered instruction, limited student participation, and the lack of engaging learning media. The combination of the NHT approach, discussion method, and Pop-Up Book media was expected to create a more active, collaborative, and meaningful learning environment. This study employed the Kemmis and McTaggart Classroom Action Research model, which consisted of two cycles. Each cycle included four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were fifth-grade students of SDN Bantengan 01. Data were collected through learning achievement tests, classroom observations, documentation, and field notes, and were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings indicated that the implementation of the NHT approach, discussion method, and Pop-Up Book media successfully improved students' participation, collaboration, and learning outcomes in Pancasila Education. Learning mastery increased progressively from the initial condition to the second cycle, accompanied by higher levels of student engagement throughout the learning process. Therefore, the integration of the NHT approach, discussion method, and Pop-Up Book media proved to be an effective strategy for improving both the quality of instruction and students' learning outcomes in elementary school Pancasila Education.
