These misconceptions often stem from improper understanding of basic concepts, which can hinder students' academic achievement. Research shows that students often misunderstand key concepts such as hydrostatic pressure, Pascal's law and Archimedes' law, which negatively impacts their understanding of more complex physical phenomena. Through an in-depth analysis of 348 Google Scholar indexed publications from 2015 to 2024 with help from search tools such as Publish or Perish and Dimensions AI. This article identifies the causes of misconceptions and offers a constructivist approach as a solution to improve student understanding. By integrating findings from various studies, this review aims to provide a more comprehensive insight into the phenomenon of misconceptions and the strategies that can be applied to overcome them, so as to improve the effectiveness of physics learning at the high school level.

Keywords: Misconceptions; Physics Materials; Static Fluid; High School Students.
Lalu Azikri Amrullah, Handrianto, Ahmad Busyairi Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran Fisika Indonesia https://jpfis.unram.ac.id/index.php/jppfi/article/view/629 Thu, 10 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0100 Analisis Miskonsepsi Peserta Didik SMP Pada Materi Getaran dan Gelombang https://jpfis.unram.ac.id/index.php/jppfi/article/view/633
One of the physics materials that students often experience misconceptions is vibration and wave material. Students who often experience misconceptions in vibration and wave material have several factors including abstract material concepts, from everyday experiences, difficulties in connecting the concepts of vibration and wave material, and learning method models. This study aims to identify forms of misconceptions that commonly occur in grade VIII students related to the concept of vibration and waves. Through a literature review, it was found that misconceptions that often arise include misunderstandings about the relationship between period and frequency, wave properties, and the differences between transverse and longitudinal waves. Using interactive and varied learning media can also increase student learning motivation and reduce misconceptions. The three-tier diagnostic test is an effective instrument for revealing student misconceptions in depth. The results of this literature review are expected to be the basis for the development of more effective diagnostic instruments and learning strategies to overcome misconceptions in vibration and wave metrics.

Keywords: Misconceptions, Vibrations and Waves.

Lalu Zoandi Saputra, Muhammad Abdul Halim, Ahmad Busyairi Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran Fisika Indonesia https://jpfis.unram.ac.id/index.php/jppfi/article/view/646 Tue, 12 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Use of Boyle's Law Apparatus in Boyle's Law Practicum: A Cookbook Model Approach to Apparatus Testing and School Implementation https://jpfis.unram.ac.id/index.php/jppfi/article/view/676
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Boyle's Law Apparatus in teaching the relationship between pressure and volume of gas at constant temperature, utilizing a structured cookbook practicum approach. An experimental method was employed at MA Alinayah Bandung, involving four variations of pressure and ten trials for each variation, resulting in a total of 40 trials. The tools used included vacuum tubes, vacuum pumps, manometers, and volume meters for accurate measurement of pressure and volume. Results demonstrated a consistent inverse relationship between gas volume and pressure, aligning with Boyle's Law, where P × V remained constant. The structured approach facilitated accurate data collection and enhanced students' comprehension of gas behavior principles. The findings highlight the importance of practical experimentation in physics education, providing students with hands-on experience and fostering critical thinking skills for a more interactive learning environment.

Keywords: Boyle's Law; Gas Behavior; Experimental Method; Physics Education; Cookbook Practicum.
Luthfiah Dewi Salsabila, Adam Malik Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran Fisika Indonesia https://jpfis.unram.ac.id/index.php/jppfi/article/view/676 Mon, 25 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000
